+ WHAT'S INCLUDED?
All tours provide a tour leader, and an appropriate number of professional guides for the size of the group to lead you through the route.
Bike tours include bottled water, helmets and comfortable bikes for customized bike tour events. Our bikes can be transported to a designated location where guest cyclists can be fitted with bikes and helmets. Before every tour, group riding protocol and rules of the road are reviewed.
Please refer to our Tour Page for additional information.
+ HOW LONG DO TOURS LAST? WHEN DO YOU OFFER TOURS?
All tours tend to run 3 to 4 hours, including the prep time. The routes typically include about a half dozen stops of interest, including at least one slightly longer break. Because our tours are custom, the hours are flexible to meet your needs during daylight hours.
+ HOW FIT DO I HAVE TO BE?
Tours are easy paced and geared to the slowest rider so no one gets left behind. Participants should have some cardiovascular stamina and be able to exercise a moderate amount. If you are concerned about your ability to participate please contact us prior to booking.
+ CAN I TAKE MY KID(S) ON ONE OF YOUR TOURS?
Certainly! Age Limit: 10 and Older. We do not have children’s bicycles, but we do have bicycles that easily accommodate riders down to heights of 4’11”. We do not allow use of bike trailers on tours due to safety factors involved with group riding in an urban environment.
+ DO YOUR TOURS RIDE ON PUBLIC STREETS?
Our tours utilize a mix of dedicated bike lanes, shared bike lanes, sidewalks and city streets. As with any outdoor activity in an urban space, there are risks. We expect our riders to be alert and responsive to ensure safety of all participants.
+ WHAT KIND OF BIKES DO YOU USE FOR THE TOURS?
We use dual handbrake bikes with seven gears. We do not offer tandem bicycles at this time.
+ CAN I BRING MY OWN BIKE?
Yes, you get a $10 discount for bringing your own bike or one you have already rented! Please indicate this in your booking notes and we will refund your excursion after checking to make sure your bike will work for our tour.
+ WILL YOU WORK WITH MEETING/EVENT PLANNERS?
We love to work with meeting and event planners! We want City Outpost to be the best experience of your event to provide unique group excursions and accommodate special requests. From working with planners, management approvals, permitting if necessary, scheduling, and of course the ride, we can help with all the details! We are working to do more than bike rides, so don’t hesitate to ask about other events too!
+ WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
To reserve a date, we require a 50% deposit. Reservations are first come, first served and no guarantees are made until a deposit is received. Deposits will be refunded if canceled one week (7 days) prior to event. Final payment is due one week prior (7 days).
+ DO YOU CANCEL TOURS IF IT RAINS?
We will work with meeting planners to facilitate events, but we can’t control weather. Lightning or severe weather will result in cancellation. Any other weather conditions can be discussed with event planner.
+ HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SCHEDULE A TOUR?
For larger parties, a two week advance is recommended. Warmer seasons are very busy, and we strongly encourage that you reserve your tour or rental to guarantee availability.
